Music Composing Lessons

Music LifeStyle Academy introduces Music Composition and Arranging Courses for both music lovers or students with music knowledge. Award-winning composer/cellist Khachatur Khachatryan together with Dominic Wan a well-renowned composer and guitar champion are ready to make your music composing and arranging skills soaring to a new height!

Mr.Dominic composed for local staging of Arthur Miller’s ‘The Crucible’, ‘Grimm Tales’ as well as independent film ‘Bipolar’. Whereas, Khachatur Khachatryan has arranged music piece: Gaspard de la Nuit,2nd mvt-Legibet for performers of Singapore Symphony Orchestra in Singapore.

 

What Will You Expect To Learn

  1. To be able to compose your own melodies and rhythms.
  2. To learn how to develop your rhythmic and melodic material through a wide variety of compositional techniques.
  3. To be able to transcribe and arrange music (hear melody and rhythms and able to write them down in notation form)
  4. Be able to prepare to study Musical form and harmony.
  5. Able to create music score (from any size of music group to large orchestra)
  6. Be able to complete your O-Level, A-Level and IB Music Program.
  7. To learn how to use professional music notation software: ‘Finale’ for composing.

Course Requirement

  • Students should have basic knowledge of music theory prior to taking up this course. He or she must be able to read notes in treble clef and bass clef, have a basic knowledge of note durations, meter, key, scales, flats, sharps, intervals, chords as well as chord inversions.
  • It is advisable to sign up music theory lessons with us prior to enrolling for this course should you have no music background.
  • For those who are able to play rather well in some instruments such as Guitar and Piano would be definitely a plus for this course.

  1.  Music students or lovers who aspire to compose, write and arrange music.
  2.  Composers or arrangers with previous knowledge or experience who want to enhance their skills will be able to learn some new techniques too.
  3. For student who should complete his O-Level, A-Level and IB Music Programs in composing.
